The president of the Cabildo of Tenerife and from Urban Consortium for the Rehabilitation of Puerto de la Cruz, Pedro Martin, has announced the incorporation of six new companies to the quality program of the Consorcio de Rehabilitación de Cross port. “It is an opportunity for businesses in the service sector of the tourist city to have a training process and technical support that will allow them to propose new ways of approaching management and the customer experience, at a time when the reactivation of tourist activity is already very significant”, Explains Martín.

Martín adds that the entities that are incorporated belong to the field of tourist intermediation, coffee shops, language tourism, experiences at the destination and commerce. And he emphasizes that it is about “companies whose work has been interrupted by the health situation, and that, together with those who were already part of the program, they will begin to receive advice from Tourist Excellence of Tenerife, an entity that has been working since the beginning of the program promoted by the Consortium ”.

The manager of Tenerife Tourism Excellence, Juan Carlos Lorenzo, indicates that the challenge for the future is “to try to reillusion the companies that continue to bet on improvement and the need to adapt certain activities to the situation in which they live in a particular way. This is currently the case, since we are trying to help some companies participating in previous editions, mainly hotels, in the field of measures to reduce the risk of contagion by Covid-19”.

The group of companies that will receive advice from Tenerife Tourism Excellence, an entity that has been promoting management in the tourism sector for more than 25 years, will receive guidance based on four axes of modern business management, what within the program has been called New model. On the one hand, the improvement of processes aimed at increasing the competitiveness of the business such as strategy, legal compliance, organization, communication and the relationship with suppliers.

They belong to the subsectors of tourist intermediation, coffee shops, language tourism, experiences to discover the destination and commerce

Another block of the assistance they will receive will be focused on improving customer experience and satisfaction, a aspect of vital importance due to the level of exposure on the internet that tourism companies have on the web. The other blocks are dedicated to analyzing how companies can and should be more sustainable, each one based on its activity, to finally, but not least, look at issues related to innovation processes capable of being assumed by organizations. in many cases micro SMEs.

At the end of this year 2021, the Portuense Consortium plans to open a new call in which a new group of companies may join. The program sometimes opens to the participation of any interested organization to certain training and informative sessions, in order to add value to the companies of the tourist destination.

The execution of this quality program has allowedn the last eight years know in depth the business reality of Puerto de la Cruz and meet their demands. In addition, new companies and professionals in the tourism sector will be allowed to join through a call that will open in the coming months. With this, the Urban Consortium intends to work even more with the business sector of the tourist city in favor of improving the quality and promotion of the tourist destination.
