“It is the most welcoming and familiar monographic that we have celebrated in all the years that I have been in this, and there are more than 40”. This is how the organizer of the 30th Presa Canario Monograph, José Manuel López, described yesterday the meeting that until today takes place on the Perico Perdomo fighting ground in the neighborhood of La Salud, in Santa Cruz. This meeting, which yesterday hosted the evaluation of the Presa Canario puppies and the children’s contest, today will embrace the competition in which the Championship Attitude Certificate (CAC) of the Royal Canine Society of Spain will be put into play, valid to choose to the Spanish Championship where the best specimens and breeders from all over the Canary Islands, the Peninsula and abroad will meet.
“Today (yesterday) we have had about 40 dogs, and tomorrow we will have 120. We will be at the terreiro from ten in the morning,” said López, who was satisfied with the location, after having to suspend the first attempt at the Casa del Ganadero for meteorological reasons. “We are very happy because we expected so many people, more than 200 people have come to see the contest, and I hope that more people will be encouraged on the second day”. Today the jury will assess specimens from all over the Canary Islands, the Peninsula, Turkey and Serbia. In addition, it will have the presence of numerous breeders from Serbia, Poland, Germany and the USA. The objective is the promotion, dissemination and selection of the breed.
