Tenerife will bring together the international leaders of the video game industry on the 28th in the Auditorium. Major figures in the sector have confirmed their presence to participate in the Gamelab meeting, which already has a dozen confirmed speakers.
The Island is preparing for this international event, sponsored by the Cabildo and Hiperdino, which will make it the world capital of the sector for one day. The program includes talks, podcasts and an indie area. The forum, organized by Gamelab and HDG, a Hiperdino company, has already confirmed the poster. John Romero stands out, award-winning co-founder of id Software and Romero Games, as well as responsible for some of the biggest first-person shooter video games such as Doom, Quake and Wolfenstein. The writer, professor and researcher Richard Bartle, known for being the co-creator of the Multi User or MUD domains, will also be present at Gamelab Tenerife.
Other great personalities will also attend the event, such as Maarten de Koning, executive, businessman and advisor; Eva Gaspar, CEO of Abylight Studios and one of the most influential video game figures in Spain; and Dino Patti, founder of Coherence, who led the development of the award-winning video games Inside and Limbo at Playdead for more than a decade. Simay Dinc, co-founder of Recontact Games and Women in Games Turkey, will talk about her work as a producer in the Turkish industry of the sector.
Likewise, the Tenerife Auditorium will receive Rami Ismail, co-founder of Vlambeer and popular speaker, and Yoan Fanise, creator of the award-winning Valiant Hearts. The poster brooch is put by Ian Livingstone, one of the founding fathers of the industry in the United Kingdom, and Oscar Wolontis, from Hazelight Studios AB, developer of It Takes Two, game of the year at The Game Awards 2021.
