Canarian Coalition of Tenerife celebrated this noon third meeting of the party’s sectoral commissions on the islanda meeting in which they congregated about 200 people and in which the work developed since 2019 during the more than a hundred sectoral meetings held over the years.

For the nationalist party, this means “a clear example that the Canarian Coalition is stronger than ever and is the only party that seeks to improve Tenerife and its inhabitants in the face of the situation of paralysis and lack of leadership suffered by the island.”

The general secretary of the Canarian Coalition of Tenerife, Francis Linareshighlighted during the meeting that the sectoral commissions of the nationalist organization have held a total of 115 meetings over the years, which shows that the Canarian Coalition “is stronger than ever and we are going to recover our pride and dignity for this land”.

According to Linares, “many thought we were dead, that we were going to disappear, and yet, since the 2019 elections we have more than 500 new members, which means that, at present, CC de Tenerife has more than 12,000 affiliates”.

In addition, he praised the work of the sectoral commissions during these years, “an effort and teamwork that has generated the preparation of motions and proposals for the electoral program, the support in holding meetings and the political positioning in aspects as important as Fonsalía or the Teide National Park Master Plan”.

He added that the nationalist project “is stronger than ever despite the effort to remove us from the institutions of certain political forces.” “Not only did they not achieve their objective, but we have continued to work for Tenerife and the Canary Islands, making a constructive opposition, presenting hundreds of measures since the start of the pandemic and proposals for the social and economic reconstruction of the island,” Linares said.

Proposals

During the meeting, members of the ten sectoral commissions of the CC de Tenerife met, who reflected the work carried out during these years, proposing proposals and pointing out the main concerns of the people of Tenerife in matters such as tourism, health, sports, education, social services, university, innovation, economy, environment, culture and identity.

For his part, the national secretary general of CC and candidate for the Presidency of the Government of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, defended the need to “strengthen” municipalism to face the consequences of inflation and the crisis in Europe. “We are in the worst of scenarios to face a new crisis after the pandemic, that is why it is essential that we do it from the institutions that are closest to the citizens, the city councils,” he said.

CC demands

CC demands “an immediate solution” for social and health care in Tenerife

The Secretary of Organization of CC de Tenerife and nationalist candidate for the Cabildo, Rosa Davilaassured that the Tenerife nationalists have “a project that combines the economic and social development of the islandthe generation of employment and the strong and forceful defense of environmental values, of the territory and of our natural heritage”.

For this reason, he called for the mobilization of nationalism so that the island recovers the leadership lost in these years of PSOE government. “We need to recover the illusion of an island that is lagging behind and that has lost its privileged position. We need a strong Tenerife, nationalistic and eager to move forward,” he stressed.

“Now you see how the Cabildo has lost all that institutional weight. It is no longer what it used to be, it is no longer the engine of Tenerife and consequently, people’s quality of life is getting worse, from the hospital waiting lists, the situation of older people who need social health centers, the traffic, the absolute collapse,” he said.

stoppage of projects

“The truth is that the PSOE has paralyzed projects that were essential for the future of Tenerife, such as the Tren del Sur, the installation of clean energy, the promotion of ports and airport infrastructure on an island in which mobility is essential. , and also projects that were aimed at people,” he asserted.

According to the Mayor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Secretary of Insular Policies of CC de Tenerife, José Manuel Bermúdez, “we are facing a very important moment, crucial for the nationalist organization, because ultimately we offer a multisectoral vision of all the vertices of the policy and, in this case, the absence of planning abandoned by the current island administration, adrift since the Canarian Coalition was expelled from the Government of the Canary Islands, the Cabildo and some town halls”.

“For this reason, today is the time to remind ourselves and the public that, far from becoming extinct, as some doomsayers predicted, we are more alive than ever, as we demonstrated at the massive island meeting at the beginning of October. And thanks to the sectoral commissions that today bring their conclusions, we affirm that we have a design of what Tenerife needs, of what the Canary Islands need”, detailed the mayor of the capital.

“Always attached to the citizens, these 10 commissions talk about projects and strategies to recover the Island in the economic, employment and social cohesion fields. In short, a springboard that returns Tenerife to the leadership that corresponds to it”, sentenced José Manuel Bermúdez.

Canarian Coalition demands a Plan for the Elderly from the island government

The insular secretary of the Sectoral Commissions, Juanjo Martínez, praised the work of the more than 400 people who make up the ten sectoral commissions of the party in Tenerife. “It is you who make the difference. No other political organization in the Canary Islands has a structure like this. Making proposals, in contact with our economic sectors, with the most vulnerable, with the trade union world, with associations. Identifying problems and looking for solutions from the perspective of a political force of obedience solely from the Canary Islands, since the Canary Islands above all else”, he stressed.

For this reason, he encouraged his colleagues to “make one last effort for the election year” that is coming. “Now it’s time to press until May for Rosa Dávila to be the president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, for Fernando Clavijo to be the president of all Canarians again, for our colleagues in the opposition to reach the government and for those who govern to expand their majorities. Because we are necessary so that Tenerife and the Canary Islands have a better future”,
