SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 11 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Government of the Canary Islands presents the documentaries ‘La Malvasia aromatic de La Palma’ and ‘Los Vinos de Tea de La Palma’, which are the stars of the new season of the popular television series with international projection ‘Wineman ‘.

The director of the area, Alicia Vanoostende, explained in the presentation that took place today Friday in Los Llanos de Aridane (La Palma) that “these are chapters 5 and 6 belonging to the sixth season of the program directed and presented by the expert oenologist and teacher in national and international wines, Joaquín Gálvez Bauzá”.

Vanoostende celebrated the commitment of the Ministry to sponsor these two new episodes, which are added to the documentaries on viticulture in El Hierro, La Gomera and Gran Canaria, which are in the editing phase for later broadcast. “Lanzarote and Tenerife will be the islands that will star in new episodes next year,” he clarified.

For the head of Agriculture, “this program, of international scope, is the perfect vehicle to publicize all the qualities of our wines, as well as the denominations of origin and the numerous varieties of white and red grapes, in addition to our peculiar way of cultivate the vine, which adapts to our rugged and volcanic terrain”.

He also stressed the important repercussion that the broadcast of these episodes on global projection platforms has for tourism, “because with the vine as the protagonist of this story, the viewer will be able to discover all the possibilities that our islands offer, placing the Canary Islands as preferred destination for sustainable tourism”.

The two new chapters focus on the grape grown on La Palma, with 846 cultivated hectares and a production of more than 310,000 litres. The series takes a tour of the vineyard landscapes to stop at their cellars, where white, rosé, red and sweet wines are produced, as well as the characteristic tea wines.

The director and presenter of the program will taste one of the star elaborations such as the Malvasía Dulce from the Fuencaliente sub-area, an amber-colored wine with a wide range of aromas, among which notes of dried fruit predominate. Likewise, he will dedicate an important space to highlighting the uniqueness of the Tea wine, named for its characteristic resinous flavor conferred by the wooden pipe extracted from the Canarian pine tree where it rests until it is tasted.

‘La Malvasía aromatica de La Palma’ and ‘Los Vinos de Tea de La Palma’, from the popular series ‘Wineman’, are available on the worldwide repercussion platforms Rakuten TV, Escapa TV and Dviaje, in addition to Pluto TV, in Latin America .
