The president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Peter Martinvisited this Monday, November 7, the execution of the remodeling works of the Teatro Cine Realejos, in which almost 3 million euros will be invested and which will end in the middle of next year.
The insular president has highlighted that with these works it is a question of recovering for the municipality a “key infrastructure” and hopes that by September 2023 the works will be finished, giving “a cultural alternative to the municipality, as has been expected for a long time.”
The president visited the work accompanied by the first deputy mayor of the municipality, María Noelia González, and the councilor for urban planning, Laura Lima.
The total budget for this reform is 2,713,121 euros, of which 500,000 euros correspond to municipal investment and the rest to the island. At present, the interior of the Theater has been completely demolished and a new structure is being executed that includes the total reform of the service spaces, stage box, dressing rooms and dependencies for the necessary machinery. The stalls and amphitheater will also be completely new, as well as the roof of the building.
these works are included in the Cultural Infrastructure Plan which manages the Council of Tenerife through the Culture area. “The works are progressing very well. We do not expect there to be any kind of stoppage and if everything goes as expected, these deadlines that we have indicated will be met and the works will be completely completed,” reiterated Pedro Martín.
For her part, the Councilor for Urban Planning of Los Realejos, Laura Lima, pointed out that these works are the result “of all those negotiations and meetings to draw up the project, to seek financing and, definitely, to see reality now”, and he hopes that by next year “it will be fully operational and all the residents of Los Realejos can enjoy it”.
The mayor stated that the works are being carried out in two phases: the first is the building and the second, the installation, with all the scenic part that will provide that acoustics and that environment to the cinema theater.
