The tour started from Doctor Olivera square, to continue along Herradores street, corner with Trinidad Avenue, Obispo Rey Redondo street and ended in the surroundings of the Tower of La Concepción.
The Commercial Zone of La Laguna has been chosen as the venue for the cultural encounter with Mexico through a campaign entitled ‘Day of the Dead, Night of the Dead’. Starting from a tradition with such cultural roots in our society as the festival of the dead, it has sought to strengthen ties of understanding between cultures and, at the same time, boost traditional trade and the city’s restaurant sector.
‘Day of the Dead, Night of the Dead’ is an initiative organized by the Honorary Consulate of Mexico in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, through its cultural department Espacio México Canarias, and the business association La Laguna Zona Comercial, with the collaboration of the Municipality of La Lagunathrough its areas of Festivals and Commerce, the University of La Laguna, and the Federation of Urban Areas of the Canary Islands.
It is a commercial revitalization campaign endowed with different cultural and leisure activities that highlight the Mexican tradition.
