SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 4 (EUROPA PRESS) –
An 18-year-old boy drowned this Thursday afternoon on the beach of El Ancón, on the coast of La Orotava, and another is in serious condition after being rescued from the sea.
The events occurred after 6:00 p.m. when the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert informing them that two bathers had reached the shore of the beach dragged by a wave with signs of drowning.
The health personnel, upon arrival at the scene, confirmed that one of the young people was deceased and the other was urgently transferred to a hospital in serious condition.
Given the difficulty of access by the emergency services to the beach, the Helimer took charge of the transfer of the affected person to the Tenerife North airport from where he was transferred to the hospital in a medicalized SUC ambulance.
The Civil Guard instructed the corresponding judicial proceedings.
