SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 4 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The National Police has arrested a 23-year-old man from La Laguna in Santa Cruz de Tenerife as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of usurpation of civil status by driving for more than three years with a vehicle in the name of another person.

The agents became aware of the facts at the moment in which the affected party reported that there was a vehicle circulating in Tenerife when he had never been on the island nor was he the owner, but that he had received notifications of non-payment of traffic fines and circulation taxes. and notifications of sanctions for not having compulsory insurance for a value of nearly 3,000 euros.

Thus, the National Police carried out investigations that found ownership of the vehicle and traceability until locating the current user, a former co-worker of the victim who recognized that at the time they were partners he had lost his DNI.

The author, who had no criminal record, had purchased the vehicle from a private individual and had given the data of the complainant and affected party, posing as him during all this time for the purposes of notifications related to the vehicle, which could be shown to be in the island.

For this reason, he was located and detained, being placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
