SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 2 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of the Socialist Parliamentary Group, Nira Fierro, the spokesperson, Nayra Alemán, and the deputy spokesperson, Iñaki Lavandera, analyzed this Wednesday the Canary Islands budget project for 2023 that “consolidates” the Government’s social model in the archipelago.

In this sense, Fierro assured that the Socialists are complying with their electoral program and with the Government Pact signed in 2019, demonstrating “the value of the word, so important in politics.”

Thus, he stated that these budgets are an example of political stability and the strengthening of progressivism in the islands, consolidating the social model in the Canary Islands.

“Our recipes are working, so the objective data says. The Canary Islands are in good hands, giving political stability and guarantees to citizens,” he said.

For Fierro, “a brake has been put on” the consequences of the adversities that have occurred, in addition to showing social priorities, “which have not stopped growing in these four years,” such as increases in health, education and housing.

In his opinion, it is “a commitment to the public that has allowed us to turn around the negative data we had in 2019.”

For her part, the socialist spokesperson, Nayra Alemán, assured that the new budgets respond to the needs of the Canary Islands, and that they are budgets of a “consistent and courageous” Government, in which “it trusts people”.

In his opinion, it is a roadmap that consolidates the trend of the last three years, aimed at the social majority and the middle and working class of the Canary Islands.

“These accounts face the problems of the present but above all they face the challenges of the future, they are a diagnosis of the most important needs of the Canary Islands and with policies to overcome inequalities,” he stressed in a note sent by the PSOE.

Alemán highlighted the effort of this Government and compared the data of the current Autonomous Executive with those of the Canary Coalition (CC) government in the last legislature, with a growth in the number of people who are working in the Canary Islands and the decrease in unemployment and the rate school dropout.

“In 2019, CC and PP said, for example, that with 207 million euros for the productive sector they were going to improve the competitiveness of the Canarian economy, and today we have more than 800 million euros for this,” he said.

MORE RESOURCES AND GUIDANCE

The deputy spokesman, Iñaki Lavandera, highlighted the changes and tax improvements and recalled that more than 85% of the budget comes from the funds of the General State Budget and European funds, especially from the Government of Pedro Sánchez.

“We have changed the nationalist complexes and the lament for collaboration and demanding dialogue with all the administrations from which we receive funding, and that, in the end, is transferred to the budgets, with more resources and better guidance than ever,” he commented. .

For Lavandera, this has allowed an improvement in the health system with more beds and human resources, the more than 1,000 public places in Education from 0 to 3 years, and the rebuilding of public housing.

In addition, he stressed that the approved fiscal measures will benefit 50% of the population in the archipelago.

“We come from the most important crisis in 100 years, and the forecast is that the Canary Islands will recover their GDP in four years. In the previous financial crisis, it took us nine years to recover that same wealth,” he pointed out.
