SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 30 Oct. (EUROPE PRESS) –
‘Relief’, the first documentary dedicated to the prevention of drowning, produced by ‘Canarias, 1500 Km de Costa’ and the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, premiered yesterday Saturday at the Auditorium of the University of the Security Forces of the Province of Missions (Inns).
The event was attended by around a hundred lifeguards in training, teachers and aquatic safety professionals. The city is the scene of the ‘Tragedy of Paraná’, one of the twelve true stories narrated in the biopic, which on January 16, 2010 cost the lives of eight people, including a minor.
In the presentation, Sebastián Quintana, director of production and president of the Canarian platform, was together with Esteban Chalá, national director of Civil Protection Operations; Jorge Atilio de León, director of Civil Protection; Edgar Ardiel Cabrera, director of the Misiones Lifeguard School, and Franco Bacigalupi, brother of Mauro B., who lost his life after saving fourteen people from drowning in the Paraná River.
The tour of the documentary through the Argentine country was organized by the Ministry of Security and the Ministry of Tourism of Argentina and coordinated by the Undersecretary of Risk Management and Civil Protection, led by Gabriel Gasparuttti; and the National Directorate of Civil Protection Operations, headed by Esteban Chalá.
