The general secretary of the Circle of Entrepreneurs and Professionals of the South of Tenerife (CEST), Javier Cabrera, and the president of the Hispanic-American Chamber of Commerce of Northern Virginia (USA), Susana Iribarren Marino, signed a collaboration agreement that will serve, among other objectives, to facilitate the exchange of information and expand the possibilities of business and contact networks of the companies associated with both organizations.
Javier Cabrera assured that “this agreement is important for the economy of the Canary Islands, especially in the south of Tenerife, because we will be able to collaborate and exchange experience and knowledge with companies of recognized prestige and, thus, advance in terms of new technologies, sustainability and entrepreneurship.” In addition, he alluded to the fact that this relationship expands our contact networks and that is the best way to be stronger and more competitive in the current world situation.
He highlighted the “magnificent opportunity” that this agreement represents for companies from both regions, because alliances will be formed that will allow the activity to be expanded to other parts of the world.
Cabrera explained that the agreement will materialize in the realization of joint actions, such as business missions, training activities and exchange of experiences, among others. He highlighted the opportunity of relating to more than 130 companies in the United States, among which are the first level in new typologies, cases of Google and Amazon. For all these reasons, he encouraged the CEST associates to take advantage of this agreement and the possibilities it offers in its subsequent development.
For her part, the president of the Hispanic-American Chamber of Commerce of Northern Virginia, Susana Iribarren Marino, explained that this agreement benefits the members of said organizations, since it amplifies the opportunities for exchange, growth and professional development, as well as business for affiliates.
Susana Iribarren recommended that entrepreneurs, taking into account the fluctuations of global economies, choose to internationalize their commercial activities by developing them in different countries. In this sense, he specified that the Canary Islands “have the necessary infrastructure and are strategic for these opportunities.”
One of the activities planned for the coming months is to carry out a trade mission to Washington, DC, to learn about the way North American companies work, learn about the work on innovation carried out in the United States, the use of new technologies and construction development.
This initiative will be especially important so that CEST associates and other companies on the Island can set up a network of contacts that will serve to generate new business opportunities, they point out.
