A canary, forced to leave his house because his dog attacked his father-in-law

A neighbor of Guia de Isora (Tenerife) has been forced to leave his home to comply with a court restraining order because he was convicted of urging his dog, a German shepherd, to bite his father-in-law.

The successive sentences, including one of the supreme courtor, they consider proven that FMS used the expressions “attack, attack” so that the dog attacked the father-in-law.

The man must keep a minimum distance of 100 meters from his former relatives for almost three yearsa period in which he will not be able to communicate with them through any means either and given the condemned man’s repeated refusal to serve his sentence, it was the police who had to proceed to evict him by force.

The facts took place on March 24, 2018 when PM, then 77 years old, she passed in front of the garage of the house of the man who was still her daughter’s husband.

After urging the attack, the animal bit the old man on the left forearm before the passivity of its owner. The victim managed to get rid of the dog and go away bloodied and as he could to his house.

At the time the wife of the victim came to help him and at that moment his son-in-law not only did not provide any kind of help, but also insulted her.

The injuries were so serious that PM had to stay in hospital for five days and suffer sequelae, so that he currently suffers from osteoarthritis in his forearm and wrist, a significant limitation of mobility and scars.

the courts They sentenced the defendant to one year and eight months in prison and to pay, together with an insurance company, compensation of just over 27,500 euros.to which another 4,000 interest and costs must be added.

That was the fourth time the dog had been involved in incidents of attacks on people, children and other animals.

Although it does not belong to a potentially dangerous breed, the truth is that it is included in the group of those who act violently, for which the owner was obliged to request a license from the City Council of Guia de Isora.

He assured that at the time he presented the documentation but later it was found that it corresponded to another animal.

The ex-son-in-law too had been denounced for gender violence towards the daughter of the old man attackedwhich now occupies the domicile and which has become her exclusive property.

Once the fines were paid, the defendant appealed to the criminal field and reached the Supreme Court, although it would still take about six months to comply with the court rulings and the eviction.
