Juan Miguel Olivera González, after seven and a half years in the Consistory (2015-2022), yesterday left the act of councilor of the City Hall of Candelaria and the spokesperson for the Popular Party, just seven months before the municipal elections. Olivera acknowledged that life “puts everyone in their place, and I don’t have time to attend to the responsibilities that I acquired three and a half years ago with quality.” The popular leader left in an elegant way, thanking the behavior of workers, officials and councilors of the City Council: “I hope that my contribution has been useful to the Consistory”, he concluded.

Next, the councilor for Finance and Concession Companies, Airam Perez Chinea, reported the revision of prices of the concessionaire company Urbaser SA of the street cleaning and waste collection service that the update of the CPI entails, which after being negative in 2020 (-2,400) increased to 144,000 euros in 2021. Without However, despite this increase in the company’s canon, the City Council will maintain the same rate for solid waste collection, which is around 74 euros per year per household. This revision was approved unanimously.

The councilor also informed the plenary session of the average payment period planned for the third quarter of 2022, which rises by 29.38 days.

It was approved, with 16 votes in favor (PSOE, PP, CC, Vecinos por Candelaria, Cs) and the abstention of the councilor from Sí Se puede present in plenary, the Regulation of Honours, Distinctions and Ceremonial that, according to the councilor of Protocol, Francisco Pinto, will allow updating the previous regulation, in force for 25 years, including aspects such as Adoptive Son or Adoptive Daughter of the Town or Neighborhood and the creation of the medals of Merit for Work, Cultural, Social and Sports.
