Mena asks for support to carry out the improvement of the ‘parking’ of Guargacho

The investment of 525,000 euros to refurbish the Guargacho car park, a historical demand of the neighbors of this nucleus, will go again to the plenary session tomorrow, Thursday. With an area of 15,772 square meters, the land is located in the lower area of Guargacho, the natural place of expansion of this population. They were acquired by the City Council and are used for vehicle parking. Now, the Aronero Government wants to condition the land to improve parking.

The strategic location of this car park has led the mayor of Arona, José Julián Mena, to remind all the political groups in the City Council that “despite the fact that this government group was the first in history to acquire the land for Guargacho, in this At this time, its commitment to the neighbors is important to approve this essential endowment to improve the lives of all citizens ».

The government group bought the land in 2020 to provide the town with public parking. However, when the credit modification for the conditioning works was carried out, both Canarian Coalition Like the rest of the opposition and the non-attached councillors, they presented an alternative amendment that suppressed this investment. Now, the mayor is once again taking the project for approval, given the interest shown by CC, which in the last plenary session demanded that the mayor execute said space in response to the demand of the residents.

Tomorrow’s plenary session will also address the asphalting plan, with an investment of 2,727,340 euros and that includes 32 streets. This plan was already carried out in full in 2021 but was also blocked by the opposition. “It is still a commitment of this government to improve the roads of the municipality,” said the mayor, who added that “it is a matter of road safety.” “During the last seven years we have made significant investments in this regard, conditioning more than 200 streets, paths and roads, in a specific action that has involved a total investment of more than five million euros after many years of neglect and deterioration”, concluded.
