SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 25 Oct. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Tenerife Auditorium will host the Insular Education Festival on November 4, starting at 5:00 p.m., organized by the Cabildo, through the Education and Youth area, to involve the educational community in the training and learning of kids.
The counselor of the Education and Youth area, Concepción Rivero, together with the island director, Isabel Bello, presented the details of this event and highlighted the need for all social agents to get involved in the training of the new generations.
“We cannot conceive of education as an action that begins and ends in the classroom, we have to be aware that it is a continuous process in which all the people who are in contact with the children participate,” the counselor assured.
Riveró explained that the Festival will bring together recreational and educational activities in which personalities from the world of education and other areas will participate with the aim of reaching families, administrations and centers to encourage the coordinated educational process focused on new formats, channels and contents that adapt to our social reality.
The island’s director of Education and Youth, Isabel Bello, assured that training “is present in all environments, whether family, sports or cultural, and for this reason, the festival brings together representatives from all these areas so that they give their point of view on education in community”.
Likewise, the island director explained that the event will be open to the general public, whether parents, teachers or anyone interested in the education sector and that admission will be free, since it is a project fully financed by the Cabildo. “We have 400 places and there are few available, so I invite those who wish to attend to register on the Festival website: www.festivalinsulardeeducacion.es .
The event will feature the presentation ‘The value of difference’ by former basketball player Fernando Romay, who will speak about the importance of taking advantage of our virtues and promoting values such as effort or teamwork. On the other hand, there will also be a round table, whose title will be ‘A learning community’, in which Romay, the humorist Kike Pérez, the teacher Miguel Mederos, the pedagogue Sonia Gutiérrez and the artist Elena Saavedra will participate.
The Insular Education Festival will also serve as the framework for the Azagal award ceremony for Daniel Hernández. The author, who has won other awards such as ‘Reading is Living’ from Everest publishing house and ‘Ala Delta’ from Edelvives publishing house, will be recognized with this youth literature award for his work Department of Magical Affairs. In addition, after delivering the award, the novel’s trailer will be screened.
In terms of entertainment, the teacher and comedian Kike Pérez will demonstrate that comedy can also educate with his monologue ‘From my patio door’. In addition, the singer-songwriter Elena Saavedra will close the event with a concert in the company of Rafa Muñoz on bass and Maikel BáiFãnlg on percussion.
