The user of @RomanMGlez yesterday, Monday, shared an interesting thread on the Twitter social network in which it communicated that the Serventía Archeology company has been chosen to carry out prospecting work in Arico, specifically in the area devastated by the brutal fire that took place in 2021.
The aforementioned user, who claims to be part of the aforementioned company, explains that “for Archeology it is an opportunity to prospect for new deposits because visibility at ground level allows a better view of possible structures, engravings, remains on the ground, etc.”
Román González confesses that the work to find new deposits, which require a long time of exposure to the sun, unevenness and hours of walking, give him “a lot of hope”.
The finding would be significant, because, as he explains, “finding Guanche deposits within the mountain has always been considered something eventual or not very significant, being in a transit area.” However, he clarifies that “although at the beginning of human occupation it could be that way, over the years and the population increase, the guidelines changed.”
The forest fire declared in May 2021 was the one that affected the most forest area, around 3,000 hectares, of all those that have been registered in all of Spain last year.
