Within the framework of the conferences grouped under the title of Philosophical Masonry and the Modernization of Spanish Civil Society, a ceremony will be held this Thursday to lay the first stone in the Masonic Temple, consisting of the placement of a time capsule. This act, which can only be attended by invitation, will serve to formalize some works that already began a few weeks ago.
The same Thursday, at 7:00 p.m., the opening of the conference will take place, which will be held in the Plenary Hall of the City Hall of Santa Cruz. Thus, the first of the conferences, entitled Origins, Symbols and Masonic Designs, will be given by the architect Carlos Pallés.
The second appointment will take place on Friday, starting at 7:00 p.m. On this occasion, the Sovereign Grand Commander of the Supreme Council of the 33rd Degree for Spain, Jesús Soriano, will give a conference on Philosophical Freemasonry and his contribution to the modernization of Spain. An overview. The second session will take place at 8:00 p.m., with which the conference will close, and will be led by Luis Gordillo, Professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Deusto.
This cycle of conferences is organized by the City Council of Santa Cruz and the Academy of Masonic Studies of the Supreme Council of the 33rd Degree for Spain, and is directed by Jesús Soriano.
On September 28, the rehabilitation works of the Masonic Temple began after more than 15 years of waiting since the administrative process began. They will last two years and have a budget of three million euros, which are financed by a State subsidy.
