The building built by Antonio Plasencia stands in Cabo Llanos, and, although some renovations would have to be made, it would be in a position to host the courts. Fran Pallero
The Government of the Canary Islands would buy the building for dependencies of the City of Justice. Fran Pallero

Although he insisted that there is still no decision made, the mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, confirmed that the option of moving the Local Police station to the Urban Planning building, as reported by DIARIO DE AVISOS, wins in full against the The idea of doing it in the Cabo Llanos building, a property that Antonio Plasencia handed over to the City Council as civil liability for the Las Teresitas case, and that the Government of the Canary Islands wants to buy. “Adapting that building would cost us 3 million, while the Urban Planning one is already assembled.” The mayor confirmed that the Canarian Government has already expressed its interest in buying the building to use it for dependencies of the City of Justice. “As long as they pay their value, which is about 20 million, we have no problem selling,” he said. The councilor admitted that even if there were a private investor offering more than that amount, he would have no problem putting it up for auction.

The Councilor for Security, Evelyn Alonso, confirmed that the Local Police unions have already been given the possibility of moving the police station to the Urban Planning building. “Although it is not a decision made, the truth is that the transfer would be much faster than if we chose the building in Cabo Llanos,” he said. “We have already spoken with the councilors of the different areas that are in the Management,” he continued, “and with the unions, we need to do so with the service workers who should move, and it will be then when we make a decision.” The councilor estimates that the final decision will be announced in two weeks, although she admitted that Urban Planning will almost certainly be the chosen option.

The mayor in turn recognized that the use of the General Antequera building to receive the services that are now in the Urban Planning Management is a good way to recover its use, in addition to complying with what the unions had requested, which was that it was re-used for municipal administrative use after its full rehabilitation.
