Titsa increases the number of passengers on the Southern lines by 8.3% after its reorganization

Tenerife Interurban Transport (Titsa) has registered a increase in passengers after the reorganization of lines in the South. Specifically, two weeks after the reorganization, the number of passengers on the modified lines, as well as on their alternatives, has grown by 8.3% compared to the last week of September.

The first vice president of the Cabildo and president of Titsa, Enrique Arriaga, assured that the figures recorded “are encouraging and reflect that the changes made to the lines have been well received by users.” In addition, he wanted to remember that the company “always works for provide the best service and that these modifications have contributed to solving the problems posed by the growth of passengers on the lines between the capital and the South zone”.

Enrique Arriaga explained that the greatest growth in passengers has taken place at the stops of the Santa Cruz Interchange, with an increase of 9.3%, and in the preferential stop of San Isidro, which has experienced a growth of 8.3%.

Arriaga explained that these figures “are due to the fact that, with the reorganization, the company solved the problem that existed both in the Santa Cruz interchange and in San Isidro, when line 110 filled up at the origin of the route, being forced to leave passengers on the ground.

On weekdays, the stops at the Santa Cruz interchange, with a 12% increase in the number of passengers, and at the preferred stop in San Isidro, with a 10% growth, are the ones that experience the greatest increases in passengers compared to the week prior to the start of the reorganization.

On Saturdays the number of passengers increased by 16.2%, being the stops of Costa Adeje (22%), San Isidro (12%) and Los Cristianos (12%) the ones that presented the greatest increases. As for Sundays, the growth in the number of passengers is 5.3%, with the stops at Costa Adeje (11%) and Los Cristianos (7%) showing the greatest increases in the number of passengers.

“On the other hand, the comfort of travelers has been improved with the increase in the number of trips made by the lines that connect the south of the island with Santa Cruz along the TF-1, as well as with the conversion of the San Isidro preferential stop at the head of different lines, “said the counselor.

The new South network modified some existing lines such as 110, which becomes direct between the Santa Cruz de Tenerife interchange and Costa Adeje with a frequency every half hour from Monday to Sunday; while route 111 continues to connect Santa Cruz with Costa Adeje with trips every 30 minutes, but without stopping at the Reina Sofía airport.

In addition, several new lines have been launched, such as Aeroexpress 10, which connects Santa Cruz and the Tenerife South airport with stops in Las Caletillas and San Isidro and routes every 30 minutes. Likewise, line 112 was created, which connects directly and without stops the interchange of the capital and Los Cristianos, with frequency every half hour and line 452 that connects San Isidro with Costa Adeje, Fañabé and La Caleta every hour, bypassing Los Cristianos

As for routes 450, and Aeroexpress 40 and 711 at night, they continue to provide the same services as before the reorganization.
