SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 22 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS TELEVISION) –

The general secretary and spokesperson for the PP in the Congress of Deputies, Cuca Gamarra, has affirmed that the General State Budgets (PGE) 2023 are a “great general mortgage of the State” economic and political for the next generations and has lamented the commitments to which the president, Pedro Sánchez, can reach with independentistas and Bildu to get them ahead.

This was stated this Saturday in Tenerife during the closing of the itinerant convention of the PP of the Canary Islands ‘A plan to govern’, which also included the participation of the president of the popular of the islands, Manuel Domínguez.

“At a time when Spaniards need more certainty, what we have is the most denied government of democracy because it has absolutely failed in all the economic forecasts that have been made since Sánchez came to power,” he asserted.

Gamarra insisted here that the PGE project has been denied by “all the national and international, public and private organizations” that have spoken about it. “Nobody — he continued — is capable of endorsing the macroeconomic framework and the economic expectations that Sánchez says he has for our country.”

Therefore, he understood that this is not a “serious” project and he placed special emphasis on the fact that when a self-employed person, an investor, an entrepreneur or any family makes their forecasts, they do so based on economic expectations.

“And when you play with this, you don’t play with your own, you play with the future of the people because you lead them to a wrong future,” he observed, adding that with “propaganda you cannot govern responsibly.”

SOME PGE “TO IMPROVE LIFE” OF SÁNCHEZ

For the popular, Spain does not need “a Sánchez”, but a responsible Government, and assured the PGE 2023 are the ones that are good for the president to continue in La Moncloa, not the Spanish. “They are designed to improve the life of Pedro Sánchez,” he declared.

Gamarra thus requested explanations as to why a budget that has a “completely outdated” macroeconomic framework that “no one endorses” is not withdrawn; that excludes the middle classes from “any kind” of tax relief that helps alleviate inflation; or that they are going to suppose 190 million euros a day of debt. “This means – he indicated – that the PGE are a great general mortgage of the State, which is a very different thing”.

In addition, the general secretary of the popular has commented that the president of Spain is the one who has indebted the Spanish the most in less time, a “record” that is not the one that a good ruler had.

“WHICH PARTIES ARE YOU WILLING TO PAY?”

“Sánchez also has to give explanations not only about the budget items, but also about the political items that he is willing to pay. What compensation is he willing to pay to stay in La Moncloa?”, questioned the popular.

In this sense, he recalled that in recent hours the “demands” of some “partners” of the Government of Sánchez have been heard. “Those he has chosen –he clarified–: independentists and Bildu.”

Likewise, he questioned “what is the personal commitment that he claims to have with the independentistas to reform the crime of sedition.”

“That is not a personal commitment with the Spaniards, but with those who have not yet rendered accounts before the Justice and a ruler does not negotiate with those who have not stood before the Justice to render accounts”, he said to wonder if that is the price Sánchez is willing to pay.

On the other hand, Gamarra assured that the Spaniards have the right to know if they are facing the scenario that Otegui said a year ago in relation to other PGE that Bildu supported, “which is that if they had 200 ETA prisoners sentenced in jail they had to take to the streets and that if they had to support some PGE for that, they would support it”.

“A year later we have other PGEs and we have seen how Bildu supported those of last year, how prisoners convicted of terrorism have come to their homes and how third degrees have been granted that have even been revoked. The question to Sánchez remains the same: Are you going to agree with Bildu to bring prisoners closer to support the PGE?” he concluded.
