SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Sep 15 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Science and Technology Park, has launched the Center of Excellence in Development and Innovation (CEDeI), a training and employment program that equips the island with highly qualified professionals, training them in technologies and state-of-the-art development methodologies and linking them to job placement.

The 150 beneficiaries of this year’s program, divided into two calls, have the possibility of starting a professional career after the training process, which runs from six to twelve months, since the companies adhering to the program agree to hire the less to 60% of the people they train. While this scholarship lasts, the participants in this training program will receive a salary of 886 euros gross per month.

The vice president and island councilor for Innovation, Enrique Arriaga, highlighted “the importance of the scientific and technological sector for the island, an important business niche that can be key to generating employment in Tenerife and not depending exclusively on tourism. The CEDeI collaborates in the formation of different professional profiles and levels of study to give way to talent and generate employment “.

The CEO of PCTT, Raquel Lucía Pérez Brito, specified that “tomorrow the second call of this year opens to participate in CEDeI: from September 16 to 25, interested companies will be able to request their participation and from the 30th of this month people Those who want to benefit from this training can apply. ”Pérez Brito invited some and others to be part of this program and recalled that the call is open to all ages.

Arriaga added that “under the framework of Parque Científico y Tecnológico de Tenerife SA, the Island Council aims to promote the diversification of the island’s economy, foster an authentic culture of innovation and concentrate, through various enclaves, innovative companies technology and local, national and international, that carry out actions that promote qualification in Tenerife. For this reason, it is necessary to have a solid and mature structure that increases the recruitment of specialized talent, in order to make companies grow by promoting the scientific and technological qualification and that this reverts to jobs “.

The collaborating companies in this program are linked to the areas of Steam, science, technology, mathematics, art and engineering. Last July, four companies joined CEDeI: Atos Consulting Canarias, from the IT sector; Tech Education Right Technologies / TECH, from the content generation sector; and Tomavision Studio and 3 Doubles Producciones, from the animation sector. All had to submit an explanatory report in which they collected the training itinerary, the number of students who were going to train and the length of the training stay.

Since this training program was launched in 2015, the total number of CEDeI beneficiaries exceeds 400 people. For more information about the program and to register, you can consult the link www.intechtenerife.es/cedei. All the actions developed by the Tenerife Science and Technology Park are co-financed by the Strategic Insular Development Framework (MEDI) 2016-2025, of the Cabildo de Tenerife, and by the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDECAN), of the Government of the Canary Islands.
