Economic support and administrative help is what the mayor of La Guancha demands, Antonio Hernandezto find a solution to the landslides that occurred last week on the El Roque highway, popularly known as El Convento and very busy, because, through it, the new cemetery is accessed and the school bus circulates that transports every day to the students of the Plus Ultra school.

“The higher administrations will have to help us solve this problem,” says the president, who did not hesitate to contact the island president, Pedro Martín, to convey his request. The president of the Cabildo traveled to the area on Thursday accompanied by Hernández and the councilor for Works and Services, Juan Felipe Rodríguez, to verify in situ the seriousness of what happened on the aforementioned road.

“I have visited La Guancha to find a solution to the landslides that have occurred on the access road to the municipality, which cannot be opened, because no one guarantees that stones cannot fall again and that there may be an accident,” said Martín. . The president promised to solve this problem, although he acknowledged that “it is not easy and it will not be cheap either, but we have to find solutions, and we are on that path. Once the City Council has the reports that it has already requested, I hope that together we can collaborate to solve it, ”he indicated.

In this sense, Antonio Hernández confirmed that the City Council “is working by leaps and bounds to hire the drafting of the slope stabilization project” and the order has already been issued since it is a minor contract. “When it is written, the decisions will be made and all the necessary doors will be knocked on,” said the municipal councilor.

The project has a report that will establish the technical steps that must be taken and determine the cost, although this will not prevent the search for alternative solutions “and try, if possible, at least partially open a lane with traffic lights, although it will be complicated”, admitted.
