The corporation enables an additional 3.6 million for drafting projects and another 3.3 million for essential projects
SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 14 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife has presented this Friday the new Municipal Cooperation Plan 2022-2025 that includes a total of 45 works with a budget of 60 million, 25% more than the previous program.
The details have been exposed in a press conference by the president of the Cabildo, Pedro Martín, and the Minister of Municipal Cooperation and Housing, Zebenzuí Chinea, who have stressed that the works have been agreed with all the municipalities.
“No work is imposed here,” the Tenerife president remarked.
Each council will receive one million euros on a linear basis and the rest of the investment will be distributed according to the criteria agreed with the Canarian Federation of Municipalities (Fecam).
Currently there are still 12 works under the 1014-17 plan and another 10 under the 2018-21 plan.
Martín has highlighted that it is a very “ambitious” plan that focuses especially on improving sanitation and sewage discharges on the island and that underpins the “municipalist vocation” of the government team by focusing on the municipalities that have the most difficulties to execute works.
In this context, he has also given as an example the employment plans deployed with the municipalities, the investment of almost 30 million in a support plan for social services, the advice of Cabildo officials for secretarial and Intervention work or a new “approach culture” to design the activities with the city councils and that it would not remain as a “gift” granted by the insular corporation.
Apart from the 60 million, the Cabildo also enables a budget of 3.6 million for drafting projects so that all the works are carried out and another 3.3 million for the 17 municipalities with less than 20,000 inhabitants aimed at promoting 40 essential works in the case of pavilions, squares, cemeteries, asphalting or improvement of municipal facilities.
