Nanatael Ramos opens the ninth edition of ‘Naturajazz’ at MUNA

The cycle of concerts, organized by the Autonomous Organism of Museums of Tenerife, will be held on Thursdays and Fridays from this Thursday until October 28.

The Island Councilor for Museums, Concepción Rivero, explains in a note that “the program combines high-quality local artists with world-renowned musicians, with the aim of positioning the event as a key festival in the Canarian jazz scene.”

Naturajazz opens registration for the IX edition of its international competition

In that line he adds that “The performances bring the public closer to music generated in the immediate environment of the Canary Islands, such as bands of African origin, or some more exotic contribution such as from distant Iceland, which is also an insular, Atlantic and volcanic territory”.

Rivero assures that “one more year, the event seeks to become a benchmark for Middle Atlantic jazz, taking up international proposals that this year include countries such as the Ivory Coast, Niger, Tunisia or Iceland.”

The projects selected in the ‘Naturajazz’ photography contest will be screened at MUNAwhile attendees enjoy the rhythms of jazz, from the hand of renowned artists such as the Ivorian Manou Gallo, considered among the best bass players on the planet, or Natanael Ramos, who opens the festival this Thursday.

All the concerts will begin at 9:00 p.m. and will last approximately one hour and a half, they are also free until full capacity is reached.

Nathanael Ramos, considered one of the most outstanding international figures of Canarian jazz, in addition to being the artistic director of the Atlántico Jazz and New Music Laboratory, will be in charge of opening the festival this Thursday.
