The Secretary of Organization of CC de Tenerife, regional deputy and virtual candidate for the presidency of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, stated yesterday on Onda Tenerife that her formation “will win the elections” in municipalities such as Arona or Candelaria, where the PSOE has an absolute majority.
In addition, he clarified that “we are going to break the majorities in those two municipalities, after the disastrous management of the Socialists”, without going into the assessment that in Candelaria his party went from five to two councilors in the last elections, and in Arona, from four mayors that he removed, none of those who started the mandate remain. Despite this, Dávila was extraordinarily optimistic, making, yes, more emphasis on “how abandoned Candelaria is by Costas” or “in the problems of misgovernment of Arona due to the crisis of the PSOE, split in two”. He also spoke of the problems that the Canary Coalition has in finding good candidates in those two municipalities and many others in the South, except in San Miguel, Granadilla or Güímar, where they hope to continue governing with Arturo González, José Domingo Regalado and Gustavo Pérez, this the latter “thanks to a pact with the socialist Airam Puerta that works very well,” he said.
He downplayed the fact that the former mayor disqualified for 17 years, Berto Reverón, was invited to a CC act in Arona, pointing out that “as a citizen he is not disqualified from talking about Arona’s problems and as a referent of our party he is very concerned because of the existing lawlessness.
Dávila will begin today the meetings with the local committees to present his willingness to lead the Canary Coalition’s candidacy for the Presidency of the Cabildo de Tenerife in the May 2023 elections, as announced on Wednesday in the Island Executive.
Gustavo Pérez repeats in Güímar, with Félix Fariña as ‘number two’
The local assembly of CC in Güímar gave official status last night to the candidacy of Gustavo Pérez – current mayor, after the pact with the PSOE – to repeat as a nationalist candidate for mayor. No other option was presented, confirming that the current island councilor, who was considered to replace Pérez, Félix Fariña, will go on the list as number two, while Haridian Martín will be number three. In number 4 the ex-popular Juan Delgado repeats, although he announced at the time that this would be his last term.
