The public once again endorsed this weekend in a massive way the municipal commitment to leisure and commerce that gives meaning to the initiative Full moon in Santa Cruzwith an estimated influx of 300,000 people during the three days of duration, as highlighted yesterday by the mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez.

The councilor expressed his satisfaction with the great reception that all the organized activities had -more than a hundred- and the presence of public of all ages, “which is in tune with the eminently familiar character of Plenilunio”.
Bermudez thanked the citizens for the massive response to this call, one of the most successful, since it yields figures of over 300,000 people throughout the weekend, since Friday afternoon, who have approached the different activities distributed in all the city.

He also expressed his gratitude to the sponsors and organizers of all the activities, and announced that the activities are already being prepared so that next weekend the capital will once again be an attraction “to see and do things on its streets.” In this regard, he added that “it is a commitment that we made at the beginning of this year, in April with the initiative ‘Santa Cruz: Puro Corazón’ and we are fulfilling the roadmap that will continue unstoppable until the end of the year ”.

For his part, the CEO of the Development Society, Alfonso Cabello, recalled “that the design of these activities, coordinated with sponsors and collaborators, fundamentally pursues the economic revitalization of the city, through a recreational, cultural and leisure”. He also added that “precisely, this activation of the economy among the local productive fabric, which knows that activities will not stop until the end of the year, also favors the ultimate goal of this municipal commitment, which is none other than the generation of employment”.

In these terms, he pointed out that “these three months until the end of the year and the first week of 2023 are essential for the commercial sector of the city, since it is not in vain that 60% of the annual turnover of both commerce and of the hotel and restaurant sector.

The main enclaves in which Plenilunio took place -both in open spaces and in closed areas- registered a constant influx of public throughout the weekend, with especially significant peaks after 7:00 p.m. in the García Sanabria park, as well as in the square of La Candelaria and Alameda del Duque de Santa Elena.
In this regard, the promoters of the García Sanabria gastronomic initiative have expressed their satisfaction with the development of the two days, both in number of visitors and in sales figures.

On the other hand, the coincidence this weekend of the Santa Cruz Extreme sports event must also be taken into account, which brought together more than 700 participants on Saturday, in its eighth edition held on the trails of the Parque Rural de Anaga, Reserva de the Biosphere.

Citizen satisfaction

As in previous editions, the Municipal Development Society prepared a survey among those attending Plenilunio Santa Cruz, which in the first known data reveals a high degree of satisfaction, figures that will be finalized and announced next week.
