The Los Realejos Police incorporate a radar to deploy speed controls

Hereinafter it will be more difficult to get out of a ticket if you exceed the speed limits in The Realejos, especially on the roads that accumulate the most problems. The Local police of the northern municipality acquires a mobile radar to carry out controls on the roads after having reinforced its means with a surveillance drone, drug test devices and breathalyser, and a crowded vehicle. The mayor of Realejos, Adolfo González, and the Councilor for Security and Emergencies, Carolina Toste, reported yesterday that this action is accompanied by the training that a dozen Los Realejos Local Police officers have received during this week for its correct use.

The device has been tested on roads where neighbors have expressed concern about frequent speeding. The mayor pointed out that “there are several roads and streets in Los Realejos, especially in urban areas, about which citizens tell us about this type of situation, with which this measure aims to guarantee driving and pedestrian safety, the neighborhood break and, at the same time, carry out a study of the average speeds of each road. Noise controls will also be carried out.

Carolina Toste advanced, for her part, that different road safety campaigns will be carried out randomly in different parts of the municipality, where agents from the Los Realejos Local Police will be present with this speed control device. He added that “in this way a neighborhood demand is met and a collection effort is not pursued, but to continue implementing measures that serve as a guarantee of compliance with traffic circulation regulations, avoid accidents and, ultimately, promote the safety of the people”.

The Councilor for Security and Emergencies stressed “the need to continue providing the Local Police with the means to that they can carry out their work with greater benefits and effectiveness». Carolina Toste highlighted the recent acquisition of different equipment, in addition to those related to speed controls, such as pet microchip readers and the Eurocop police program, a police management computer system.
