These are the new sections of the TF-1 that will be under construction next week

The Council of Tenerife has informed this Saturday that a new phase of the works will begin shortly on the TF-1, in the area of Las Chafiras.

The works will begin with the construction of an elevated roundabout, which begins with the installation of some pillars on the axis of the highway, for which the necessary drilling work is already being carried out, the Cabildo said in a statement.

Subsequently, for build the roundabout, the bridge that joins the lower and upper part of Las Chafiras will be demolished.

Work is also beginning to build the new access and roundabout in the lower part of Las Chafiras, parallel to the highway, to increase the flow of traffic in an area where a large number of vehicles converge.

According to the Council, The work is now taking a very slow process due to the great difficulty of working on a road through which more than 100,000 vehicles a day pass.

In addition, unlike other roads with less traffic intensity, it is not possible to close one of the lanes to move faster in the works, so the intention is to keep all four lanes open at all times.

The work carried out by the Government of the Canary Islands is tremendously complex because to the existing traffic is added the fact that in the area there are electrical lines, public supply water pipes and the line of purified water in the direction of Valle San Lorenzo, adds the note.

Likewise, in the north of the island there are two projects already completed, awaiting environmental evaluation, in order to put the works out to tender and start executing works.

This is the road that passes behind the Tenerife North airport and the Icod-San Juan de La Rambla connection, together with the north-south connection between Santiago del Teide and El Tanque, currently underway.

In relation to the works of the TF24, the La Esperanza highway, and the Padre Anchieta roundabout, the president of the Cabildo, Pedro Martín, trusts that next week the inconvenience that is being caused can be reduced and that there will be less complications in the area, with the progress of the works that are necessary.
