SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 6 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín, has appealed this Thursday to continue working “together” with Podemos in the island corporation despite the fact that the purple formation announced yesterday the withdrawal of its support as a result of the management of the urban project of ‘Cuna of the soul’.

In an interview granted to ‘Radio Club Tenerife’ and collected by Europa Press, he commented that in collaboration with the Sí Podemos group, “very powerful social policies, not showcase policies” have been deployed in this mandate, as well as having put “order” in public companies or improve “transparency”, which has placed the corporation with an outstanding grade.

He has indicated that “an impulse” has been made that they wanted to do “from the left” with “consensus proposals with them” and understands that it is possible to “continue working” beyond the fact that there are “different visions” in relation to the Motor Circuit and other projects.

On the possibility that this lack of support could lead to the breaking of pacts in other institutions on the islands, he stated that there are “no reasons” even though there are “differences” regarding the urbanization of ‘Cuna del Alma’. “There is no reason why it could affect any other agreement, I would not understand it honestly,” he added.

Regarding this specific initiative, he has pointed out that the Cabildo’s position “is to comply with the law” and for this reason it has been “absolutely neat” in its processing without putting itself “on the side”, stressing that “it is the only one that has acted and has done something” — apart from the fine of 600,000 euros to the company opened by the General Directorate of Patrimony of the Government of the Canary Islands–.

In fact, he has commented that the works where “a serious infraction” was detected are stopped as a precaution by the Cabildo –they affect approximately 2% of the land– “and if tomorrow the technicians who carry out permanent inspections say that there is a new condition to natural or patrimonial elements”, it will be “acted” again

Martín has insisted that respect for the law “is for everyone” and has once again claimed that “the law is clear” and that the jurisdiction, in the event of a very serious infraction, belongs to the General Directorate of Patrimony of the regional government.
