Güímar reserves 225,000 euros to resurface seven streets in Puertito

The investment reserved by the municipal government (CC-PSOE) to resurface seven streets in El Puertito de Güímar amounts to 224,643 euros: Lepanto, Juan de Austria, Magellan, Admiral Churruca, Alcalá Galiano, Juan Sebastián Elcano and Admiral Gravina. With the projects already drafted, the bidding will take place before the end of the month.

This is assured by Airam Puerta, Councilor for Urban Planning, who explains that the works are planned contemplating “the provisional reorganization of traffic to maintain activity in the area, very busy, while the work is being carried out. That’s the complexity we’re solving now.”

The action responds “to the commitment made with the residents of these streets” to resolve the damage caused to the roads, during the accessibility works, by the removal of palm trees that adorned them. Many of them were in poor condition and others were relocated, informs the mayor.

Puerta announces that “we are working to optimize the car parks in this area of El Puertito”. The technicians study and assess the appropriate solution to recover part of the parking lots eliminated during the execution of the accessibility work, while equipping some of them with green areas. All this, “in line with the neighbors,” says Puerta.

The mayor, Gustavo Pérez, maintains that hehe 3,000 homes and hundreds of businesses in El Puertito require “balanced planning of the resources we allocate to the place. Within this framework, it announces that, shortly, there will be a large socio-cultural venue, more than 100 car parks and areas for aerobic gymnastics; in the medium term, and at the request of the elderly, a bio-healthy park and a bocce court, in addition to the reorganization and expansion of the dog park.

«It is important that administrations and neighbors understand the importance of skirting the coastline. It is an investment that will improve general services by creating a balance between residents and visitors », he concludes.
