The PSOE Canarias qualifies the PGE as the accounts “of social justice and economic prosperity”

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 4 (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Secretary of Organization of the PSOE Canarias, Nira Fierro, has described the General State Budgets for 2023 presented this Tuesday by the Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, as the accounts “of social justice and economic prosperity”.

Nira Fierro stressed that the General State Budgets for 2023 include the highest social spending and productive investment to make the Canary Islands and all of Spain “a more just, advanced and productive country”.

In this sense, Fierro wanted to recall that the Minister of Finance guaranteed this September to the President of the Canary Islands and Secretary General of the Canary Socialists, Ángel Víctor Torres, that the 2023 General State Budget project “will be good for the Canary Islands” and open to “being improved” in the amendment process.

The Secretary of Organization stated that the current Budgets for 2022 will include, among other social measures, improvements in unemployment benefits, which will once again be 60% (based on salary regulation) from the seventh month. In the same way, she has pointed out, contributory and non-contributory pensions are increased; the IMV will increase in the same terms as pensions and the IPREM will be 600 euros per month from January 1, 2023.

Nira Fierro expressed her confidence that the Government of Pedro Sánchez will manage to add a large majority to carry out these accounts by 2023, in order to avoid the extension of the current ones and that this fact supposes “a decrease” for the Canary Islands, both in investment as in resources in favor of equality and the welfare state in each of the islands.

These are some accounts, he insisted, “that will guarantee the purchasing power of our pensioners and will improve the working and salary conditions of public employees.”

The Secretary of Organization of the Canarian Socialists detailed the reinforcement that will be carried out in some items for the coming years, such as in health, especially in Primary Care, education and dependency. In addition, she indicated that the 2023 accounts will incorporate funds from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan that will guide the Spanish economy towards a “more digital, greener and more productive” model.
