The town of Tejina has a new public park with landscaped areas, playgrounds, indoor trails, a sports area with calisthenics facilities and a multisport court, as well as sitting areas.
The City Council of La Laguna has made an investment of more than 105,000 euros to completely remodel a 2,100 square meter plot, located between La Destiladera, El Rabiche and Camino de La Majada streets, on the Izquierdo Rodríguez municipal soccer field, and convert it into a large park.
The mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, paid a visit to the site, along with the Councilor for Municipal Services, Josimar Hernández, and residents of the town, to check the result of an action that comes “to provide Tejina with a highly demanded infrastructure , which recovers for the citizens a public plot of land that has been in disuse up to now and offers leisure possibilities for all ages”.
Luis Yeray Gutiérrez recalled that, “with this action, added to the creation of the Parque de Las Furnias, in Punta del Hidalgo, the Parque de La Marea, in Bajamar, and the park that we are currently carrying out in Valle de Guerra , we created in the main towns of the Northeast Region new recreational spaces for the use and enjoyment of all citizens, with large green areas and perfectly adapted to the place where they are located”.
Characteristic
Josimar Hernández explained that the new park has a large children’s play area, surrounded by a hedge and protected from being close to the street. It has a tower complex with a walkway and slide, a tower, climb and swing complex, a shed with a slide and a fireman’s bar for the little ones, and two single springs, one multiple, one inclusive double and one single spring.
The facility also has a calisthenics area, in the center of the park, as well as a sports area on a concrete floor with a basket, goal and front panel. Likewise, the enclosure has an interior path and a surrounding one, accessible to people with special needs, except for the interior branch that has a more sporty approach, with steps and other elements.
On the other hand, gardening is one of the main components of the park, with themed areas (flower garden, succulent and succulent garden, and wet garden) and a large set of trees and palms, completed with shrubs, a large proliferation of groundcovers and lively that provide color. In addition, there are three living areas with self-constructed furniture for tables, planters and benches integrated into the natural space.
