Canary Islands registers 105 positives for coronavirus and one deceased

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Sep 14 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has registered 105 new positive cases of coronavirus on Tuesday and one person died, bringing the number of infected since the pandemic began to 93,654.

In the Canary Islands there are currently 5,569 active cases (-389), of which 53 are in the ICU (without variation) and 256 hospitalized on the ward (+1).

By islands, Tenerife adds 35 new cases and reaches a cumulative of 44,914, with 1,836 active; and Gran Canaria, another 51, raising the accumulated to 35,847, 3,384 of them active.

Fuerteventura has added 11 new positives, bringing the accumulated number to 4,256 and the assets to 264, while Lanzarote scores eight new cases, with 6,695 accumulated and 66 assets.

The islands of La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro did not register new positives this Tuesday.

Thus, the ‘pretty island’ continues with 1,089 accumulated cases and eight active, La Gomera with 400 accumulated and 8 active and El Hierro with 452 and two, respectively.

With the deceased notified this Tuesday in Tenerife, a 67-year-old man who was hospitalized with previous pathologies, the total number of deaths since the pandemic began is 960.

The Accumulated Incidence at 7 days in the Canary Islands stands at 35.16 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days in 77.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

Until this Tuesday, a total of 2,062,057 diagnostic tests have been carried out on the islands, with 5.96% positive, 27,004 of them in the last week with 4.8% positive.
