SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 2 (EUROPE PRESS) –
Salvamento Marítimo has rescued this Sunday a canoe in which 61 people were traveling on board heading to the Canary Archipelago.
The canoe was located by the Sasemar 103 plane about 40 miles south of Tenerife, so the salvamar ‘Alpheratz’ was mobilized.
After intercepting the canoe, the salvamar proceeded to rescue its occupants: 56 men and 5 minors, and transferred them to Los Cristianos.
On the other hand, the ship ‘Migue de Cervantes’ has recovered the bodies of the four deceased people found yesterday, Saturday, 150 miles southwest of Gran Canaria in a pneumatic boat, from which a survivor was also rescued. They are heading to Gran Canaria, where they will arrive at 06:00 tomorrow, Monday.
