SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 2 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the delegated area of Citizen Participation and Diversity, has announced the preparation of a strategy to define the actions that will mark the policies aimed at promoting citizen participation in the island area over the next two years.
The CEO of the area, Nauzet Gugliotta, clarified that through this strategy “the lines of work will be established, specific action objectives will be determined and the priority actions to be developed will be marked, all in collaboration with the entities involved in the development of the participation in Tenerife”.
Twelve workshops with participatory methodologies will be held for its preparation, as well as semi-structured interviews and a public consultation through the cabildoabierto.tenerife.es web platform.
Gugliotta stressed that it is “coordinated work between technical staff and representatives of networks, foundations and groups of associations related to diversity, disability, interculturality, the elderly, childhood and adolescence, equality, the environment and culture, among other areas that bring together to many entities, so that they are represented in the strategy”.
“In addition, we will collect the contributions of Tenerife society through the web platform for citizen participation of the Cabildo,” he added.
The island official indicated that to define the actions, the territorial criterion will be taken into account, to promote actions and make decisions adjusted to the real needs and problems of each area, and ensure that the strategy responds to the island reality.
“As a result of the pandemic we have seen that the associative fabric needs more support, as well as the municipalities, especially municipalities with less than 20,000 inhabitants, and from the Cabildo we want to continue with the line of support and collaboration maintained up to now”, emphasized.
The CEO recalled that the Cabildo has been promoting participatory actions for years, some directly and others through support for municipalities or associations. Added to this is the creation and maintenance of spaces for dialogue, professional conferences and island work tables with different groups: children and adolescents, the elderly, the LGTBIQ+ island table and the Gypsy people’s table.
