SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 2 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The PSOE will defend in all the municipalities and councils of the Canary Islands a plenary agreement to support the establishment of taxes in Spain and the EU, of a temporary energy nature and of credit entities, whose benefits are shared and channeled towards those people and groups in conditions more vulnerable. With this purpose, the Canarian Socialists will soon present motions in all local and island administrations.
The regional secretary of Organization, Nira Fierro, stressed that the PSOE, from the institutions where it governs, is promoting that part of the banking profits, “which are increasing due to the measures adopted by the European Central Bank with the rise in interest rates “, are allocated to households and companies with greater difficulties, with the purpose of mitigating the effects of inflation.
He also recalled that energy companies are making extraordinary profits due to the consequences of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. “Families are paying the effects of these situations, something that we must try to alleviate from the institutions through actions that serve to defend the well-being and basic rights of citizens.”
Fierro highlighted the measures adopted by the government chaired by Pedro Sánchez in terms of transport, pensions or fuel prices, “from the conviction that part of the benefits of those who have the most must be distributed among those who are having the worst time.”
