SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 29 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Twenty-eight companies will participate in the first edition of the ‘Oye toca ver’ program jointly organized by the Tenerife Auditorium, the University of La Laguna and the town councils of Adeje, Arona, Candelaria, El Sauzal, Guía de Isora, Los Realejos and Tacoronte. The project, organized as a season of performing arts, includes more than a hundred functions of Canarian, national and international shows, which will take place from October 7 to March 26.

The Minister of Culture of the Cabildo, Enrique Arriaga, indicated that “this ambitious project that we will start next month aims to be a tool for the municipalities when it comes to boosting cultural activity” and recalled “the important investment that the Cabildo of Tenerife has been making so that all municipalities have an ideal facility to house professional companies”.

Arriaga pointed out that the shows of this first edition, which has a laboratory character, will take place in scenic spaces in Adeje, Arona, Candelaria, El Sauzal, Guía de Isora, Los Realejos, Tacoronte and the Auditorium of the University of La Laguna. To the councilors and cultural programmers who attended a meeting held at the Tenerife Auditorium, the councilor informed them that “this action is included within the axis of the cultural policy that we presented at the time and that sought to balance cultural activity on the island “.

For the insular director of Culture, Alejandro Krawietz, “this initiative is a pioneer in building the season’s programming through a selection team made up of municipal programmers, who have attended exhibitions and festivals on the national scene and have held joint meetings since months ago”. Krawietz highlights that “it is a pilot experience to which new municipalities will be incorporated in the coming months.”

The international participation of this first edition corresponds to the company Hugo & Inés, made up of the Peruvian Hugo Suárez and the Bosnian Inés Pasic, who will bring Hunger for Puppets. Miniaturas De Londres participates in String Theater with The Insect Circus; and the four Portuguese shows will be carried out by the companies Gato Sa (Vai Vem); Do Chapitó (Antígona), Peripécia Teatro (Fardo) and Elementary Particles (Ninho).

Seventeen companies from other Spanish autonomous communities participate. Madrid contributes five: Manuel Liñán (Viva!), Jesús Rubio (Gran Bolero), Pablo Remón (Barbados, etc.), Korsia (Igra) and La Tristura (Future lovers); Catalonia proposes four shows by El Pot Petit (The Adventures of the Shameful Lion), Les Cícliques (Tábula), La Calórica (Fairfly) and Dora Cantero (The Time of the Turtles).

The Andalusian companies La Zaranda, Las Niñas de Cádiz and Truca will stage their shows The Battle of the Absent, Las Bingueras de Euripides and Sopla!, respectively. From the Basque Country come Tanttaka Teatroa (Sexpiertos) and Mar-Mar Teatro (Tarzan); from the Valencian Community Leamok (Hanle) and Lucas Escobedo (Paüra); and from the Balearic Islands the company Des Tro will participate, with its show Poi.

The Canarian representation that is included in the program is made up of Bypass (El rattle de pulpinela), Abubukaka (El nombre de la rosa), Daniel Morales (Somnus), Paloma Hurtado (Origánika) and Cyrano (Mararía).

The companies that will star in the first two months of this season are: Leamok, which will be in Tacoronte (October 7), Los Realejos (October 8) and Arona (October 14); Gato Sa will present his show in Adeje (21st), Paraninfo (22nd), Los Realejos (28th); the four performances of Hugo & Inés will be in Tacoronte (28th), Adeje (29th), Arona (November 4th) and Los Realejos (5th).

La zaranda will start its tour in Los Realejos (November 11), to continue in Arona (12), El Sauzal (18) and Paraninfo (19). String Theater will take to the stages of Candelaria (November 18), Tacoronte (20), Los Realejos (26) and Adeje (27), while Bypass will be in Paraninfo (November 26), El Sauzal (November 27), Adeje (December 3) and Los Realejos (4th) and Tanttaka Teatroa will take Sexpiertos to El Sauzal (November 26) and Paraninfo (27th).

The activities of this project, which also includes workshops, talks and meetings with the participating companies, will be announced by each stage through its usual media. The first show will be on October 8 in Tacoronte with Hanle, by the company Leamok. The complete calendar of all functions is also in the Performing Arts section of the Auditorio de Tenerife website.
