The president of the Local Committee of Nueva Canarias in La Victoria, Vicente Pérez, has demanded that the mayor of this Tenerife municipality, Juan Antonio García Abreu, approve a regulatory ordinance that applies tax credits to those citizens who install photovoltaic panels in their homes ” as it happens in other municipalities of the region”.

Pérez’s proposal would contemplate “the reduction of the IBI payment by half, during the next five years, for those households that incorporate this type of energy solution, as well as a 99% bonus in the Tax on Constructions, Installations and Works (ICIO ). This step, without a doubt, would facilitate the rise of this type of installation”.

This initiative is part of the guidelines that the canarista formation of progress follows to fight against climate change, promoting the reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. “We believe that not only big actions have an impact, since these small gestures are a way to encourage citizens, at a local level, to orient ourselves towards a new scenario of energy efficiency that is so necessary in the times in which we find ourselves”, he specified. Perez.

“An increase in electricity use, using the technology that is on the market to produce energy from the sun, would lead to greater environmental sustainability in La Victoria and would be an example for young people, and all those who have access to a home, incorporate photovoltaic panels into your homes”, said the president of the NC Local Committee in La Victoria.

Pérez, finally, underlined the importance of creating an ordinance “that provides for the application of the bonus to be effective only in those installations for heat production that include the approval of the competent administration in the matter”.
