Tenerife Intercity Transport (Titsa), a company of the Cabildo de Tenerife, puts into service as of Monday, October 3, new more direct lines to the south of the island. With the new offer, by which three new routes are created, the company offers more direct routes with less travel time.
The Minister of Mobility and president of Titsa, Enrique Arriaga, points out that these new services will allow responding to the increase in passenger demand on the routes that connect the capital with the southern part of the island. “With the lowering of the price of public transport and the increase in the price of gasoline, we have accounted for an increase of 20% on these lines”, he explains.
Arriaga assures that “the company, in its continuous analysis of the mobility of the island’s inhabitants, has sought the most appropriate formula to adapt the service and respond to the problems posed by the increase in passengers, since many had to wait for the next bus due to lack of seats. For this reason, the company is currently studying the reinforcement of some of the lines with the highest passenger demand in the north of the island, all in order to provide a better service to public transport users”.
With the new TF-1 network, aeroexpress line 10 is created, which will connect Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Tenerife Sur airport with stops in Las Caletillas and San Isidro. This route will have departures every 30 minutes every day of the week and a travel time of approximately 50 minutes. This line will provide direct coverage between Santa Cruz and San Isidro, maintaining a guarantee of free seats available, by separating the flows of travelers from tourists from the south.
Users of this line will be able to benefit from the special promotion in the capital’s Interchange car park with a rate of 3 euros per day for parking their vehicle.
As of October 3, line 110 will be direct between the Santa Cruz de Tenerife interchange and Costa Adeje with a journey time of 50 minutes, which implies a reduction of 20 minutes compared to the previous service. This line will have a frequency every half hour from Monday to Sunday.
With the new reordering of services, route 111 will connect Santa Cruz de Tenerife with Costa Adeje, but it will not stop at the Reina Sofía airport. This will reduce travel time by 10 minutes, for a total journey time of approximately 70 minutes and a frequency of 30 minutes.
Likewise, the new network allows the creation of line 112, which will connect directly and without stops the interchange of the capital and Los Cristianos, with an estimated travel time of 50 minutes and frequency every half hour.
San Isidro
To improve the mobility of the inhabitants and workers of the south, especially the residents of San Isidro, line 452 is created, which will connect with Costa Adeje, Fañabé and La Caleta, without passing through Los Cristianos. This new route, with trips every hour, will allow a faster and more direct route between San Isidro and San Eugenio, Fañabé and La Caleta.
On the other hand, routes 450 (San Isidro-Los Cristianos-Costa Adeje) and Aeroexpress 40 maintain their current routes.
night time
The 711, which connects the Santa Cruz de Tenerife interchange with the South airport, Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje at night, will continue to provide services as before. In all cases, these three lines will only have some time change.
Titsa has already begun to change the signage and schedule announcements at the affected stops.
