Given the statements of Ana Oramas, a deputy who will return to the Islands as a candidate for the Parliament of the Canary Islands by CC, rejecting a possible candidacy for the Municipality of La Laguna stating that he would not return to that institution “not sick of wine”; the mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, considered them yesterday “very unfortunate and an insult to the institution and the citizens of the municipality.”

The local councilor assures that being the first mayor of the City Council of La Laguna is the greatest honor and privilege that a citizen of this municipality can have, a responsibility that is carried with pride.

Therefore, in the mayor’s opinion, Orama’s statements hide “the state of deterioration and decomposition” of the nationalist formation, which is forced to resort to candidacies from the past to try to scratch a handful of votes. The mayor stated that there is still a long way to go for May 2023, and that the neighbors “the only thing they demand of us is that we work for this land, without wasting time on electoral calculations.”

Neither Cabildo

In statements to Cadena Ser, despite having been mayor of La Laguna for “twelve years”, Oramas rejected the possibility of being a candidate again in that Consistory, nor will she be a candidate for the Cabildo: “I would not be mayor of La Laguna again, not even fed up.” of wine and I don’t want to be a candidate for the Cabildo because that means being mayor of the Island”.

According to Oramas, he has “a lot to contribute to the team” that he is putting together in CC at a time when the nationalist formation has “the opportunity to govern again” in the Canary Islands and in the “main institutions”, although he believes that “it The important thing is not to win the elections” but “to have the best teams to govern and help the Canary Islands”.
