Agents of the Civil Guard belonging to the Nature Protection Service (SEPRONA) of Puerto de la Cruz have instructed proceedings in which they investigate a 57-year-old man, a resident of the town of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against the planning of the territory.
The investigated is accused of building some “kennels” (room where dogs are kept or locked up) in an area of rustic landscape protection land, located in the municipality of Los Silos and which is within the Teno Rural Park. In addition, it should be noted that to delimit them, he had installed a fence on rustic land for hydrological protection within a ravine.
The aforementioned works do not comply with current regulations, since not only did the accused lack authorization to carry them out, but also it is not possible to legalize the construction on this type of protected land, which is why once the Guard agents Civil made the appropriate checks, instructed the proceedings that have already been sent to the Court of Instruction in functions of the Guard of La Orotava.
In another service with similar characteristics, SEPRONA agents from Puerto de la Cruz have also initiated proceedings in which they are investigating a second man as the alleged perpetrator of another crime against land use planning, since he allegedly carried out the construction and construction of several houses for vacation use in a zone of rustic land of landscape protection located in the municipality of La Matanza.
Crimes against land use planning are typified in article 319.1 of the current Criminal Code and refer to those constructions, urbanization works or unauthorized building, on land that is under special protection, and that could lead to prison sentences. from one year and six months to four years, fine from 12 to 24 months.
