SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 17 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
La Gomera reinforces its commitment to active tourism at the Norwegian fair ‘Kamille Weekend’, which is being held this weekend in the Nordic town of Gelio, with 30 stands in the exhibition area, and is expected to be attended by more of 500 participants.
In this way, Turismo de La Gomera attends this event in order to promote the island as an ideal destination for practicing sports combined with family or group holidays.
The island councilor for Tourism, María Isabel Méndez, pointed out that the strategic lines contemplated in the 2020/2023 Strategic Promotional Plan of La Gomera “are in line with the promotion that we will carry out in this event, giving an important boost to the tourist experiences that are develop on the island, valuing our natural, heritage and cultural resources, and positioning the image of La Gomera as a tourist destination where physical and emotional well-being is found”.
Regarding the profile of the target audience for this event, Méndez explained that “it is a retreat aimed at women over 35, in charge of the family budget, with high incomes and interest in values such as physical activity and travel.” .
Thus, Turismo de La Gomera, on a professional visit, will establish relationships and contacts with potential group issuers to the island, whether they are companies in the tourism sector or other types of companies that act as prescribers for group travelers.
“In addition to focusing on this specific profile, in general, the Norwegian public has a high environmental awareness, so the values, resources and experiences that La Gomera offers are always highly valued,” he added.
The activities that the participants carry out during the Kamille Weekend are, for the most part, also offered or with the capacity to be carried out in La Gomera, such as zumba, yoga, hiking, seminars, aquagym, pilates, running or spinning, among others.
As far as connections with Norway are concerned, Oslo has seasonal flights with Tenerife Sur, and there are currently three Norwegian operators offering La Gomera: Ving, Apollo and TUI.
