SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Sep. 14 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife has formally asked the Fundación del Hogar Santa Rita to be included in the Board of Trustees of the entity due to the direct relationship that unites the island Institution with the center, which has a significant number of places arranged through the Institute of Social and Socio-Health Care (IASS).
This was transferred to the Board of Trustees by the Councilor for Social Action of the Cabildo, Marián Franquet, in a meeting in which she explained that the objective of this request is to be able to collaborate in the decisions that concern the management of this residence.
Marián Franquet recalls in a note that a significant number of the concerted places that the center has belong to the IASS, of which she is also president, and considers that the inclusion of the Cabildo in the Board of Trustees is a “natural step” in the management of the Foundation .
“From the Cabildo we seek to collaborate with the patronage to try to provide stability and help in everything that is in our power with the purpose of guaranteeing the well-being of users,” he explains.
Along these lines, it clarifies that this request is based on the intention of improving the service and care of the elderly cared for in this center.
“We want users to enjoy the best conditions that can be offered to them and provide information so that their families can feel calm and know, at all times, the situation of their relatives and the service provided to them,” he says.
Along these lines, he adds that “it seems that Santa Rita has always been surrounded by a certain ignorance” for which they want to participate in the Board of Trustees and facilitate direct communication between the team that manages the center and the public.
The counselor also emphasizes the need, as an institution, to monitor the public money that is allocated to this center and to know what aspects it is destined for and what it is used for.
“We are a public administration and we have the responsibility and the obligation to keep track of the funds that we allocate to the different entities and foundations on the island, it is important, therefore, that there is representation of the Cabildo on the Board of Trustees, so that we can access this type of information directly,” he says.
After this formal and express request, the inclusion of the insular corporation in the Board of Trustees of the Fundación del Hogar Santa Rita is in the hands of its members, who are expected to value this request and transfer their decision to the Cabildo.
