More than 5,000 Infant and Primary students begin classes today in the dozen centers Arona, for which about thirty troops, including local police officers and Civil Protection, will integrate the special security device. They will remain at the doors of the centers to ensure that the entry and collection of students is carried out with the utmost caution and fluidity in terms of road and pedestrian traffic.

The course begins “just after” the Arona City Council, through Public Services, carried out a set-up of the educational centers. During the summer, maintenance works were carried out on masonry, painting, plumbing, roofs, pavements, bathrooms and carpentry, among others, according to the needs of each center.

This year, in addition, the reform of the CEIP El Fraile is carried out. The works are very advanced and both the center and the company in charge are coordinated with the City Council so that the completion of the works interferes as little as possible in the classes.

José Julián Mena, mayor of Arona, points out that today “is an important day” for the minors, their families and the teaching teams. Thus, “Like every year, we have prepared a special security device so that this return to school flows in the best possible way”. Mena highlights “the great effort and work to guarantee decent infrastructures.”

Francisco Marichal, Councilor for Security, emphasizes the importance of the special security device that is being developed on this first day of class; Julia Raquel Morales, Councilor for Education, emphasizes that “the environment is very important, because it affects their educational experience”, hence the importance of having the centers in good condition; and, for her part, Ruth Lorenzo, mayor of Maintenance, points out that “exhaustive work has been carried out in all educational centers, responding to the needs that the management teams have sent us.” Likewise, she highlights the progress made in the reform of the El Fraile Early Childhood and Primary Education Center (CEIP), “whose works will not interfere with classes, and will end as soon as possible.”
