SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 8 Sep. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Minister of Justice, Pilar Llop, will inaugurate next Thursday a new edition of ‘Parliament Forum’ which, under the title ‘Justice: challenges and challenges’, will be held from 5:00 p.m. at the headquarters of the Autonomous Chamber.
Llop will be in charge of opening this meeting where the president of the National High Court, José Ramón Navarro, will speak first to address the independence of the Judiciary.
Next, the prosecutor of the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Jaime Serrano-Jover, will address the Tax Statute and Pilar Cuesta de Loño, lawyer of the Council of State, will close the speech session to discuss relations between the Administration and the Justice within the framework of the division of powers.
After questions from the public, the president of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, Gustavo Matos, will close the event.
Matos recalls the objective of this tenth legislature of making the Parliament a closer institution, known and loved by the citizens, a meeting place that goes beyond its legislative function and control of the Government.
The president points out in a note that throughout this year, which marks four decades of self-government and parliamentarism in the Canary Islands, an intense agenda of events is being developed to commemorate this anniversary and pay tribute to the people who have made it possible.
