The Civil Guard, within the framework of the Santero operation, has arrested Tenerife five people from the same family for allegedly extorting money from a woman by simulating the kidnapping of his daughter, counting for this with the participation of the latter.
After receiving a video in which the young woman appeared gagged and with a knife around her neck, the victim withdrew from a bank the amount of 50,000 euros to pay for the release of her daughter, explains the Benemérita.
In the video, the daughter and alleged perpetrator of the extortion appears with fake blood stains on her face, and demands payment in cash, which had to be delivered to a specific place determined by the alleged kidnappers.

At the same time, the investigators discovered that the victim had already been deceived on at least three previous occasions, in which she had delivered the total amount of 45,000 euros, after receiving three letters with threats against her daughter’s life.
For various reasons, the investigators focused their investigations on the environment closest to the young woman allegedly kidnapped, and determined the involvement of the family of her sentimental partner in the events.
Once the information was analyzed, the kidnapping protocol was activated, with specialists from the Central Operations Unit. A special intervention module of the GRS-8 was also activated, which remained on alert in case its intervention was necessary for the release of the hostage.
When the agents discovered that the young woman was in perfect condition and was not deprived of her ambulatory freedom, the investigative unit proceeded to arrest these five people for the criminal offenses of simulation of crime and extortion. At the time of the arrest, the protagonist of the video and her partner’s family were in a game room.

The agents have solved the case in less than 24 hours. In the home search, the Civil Guard has found the tools used for the simulation of the kidnapping, a large white weapon, the handkerchief with which the young woman was gagged and a bottle of artificial blood.
The operation, under the direction of the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 2 of those of Granadilla de Abona, and coordinated by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Provincial Court of Tenerife, has been carried out by the Crimes Against Persons Team and the Territorial Team of Judicial Police of the Americas, both belonging to the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police, different units of the Civil Guard Company of Playa de Las Américas, the Kidnapping Group and the Operational Technical Support Group of the Central Operational Unit; and a Special Intervention Module of the GRS-8.
