The works of the rehabilitation project of the main building of the BIC building of the Viera y Clavijo Cultural Complex and the improvement of its immediate protection environment of the BIC will foreseeably go out to tender between the next months of October and November, after the Governing Board of Santa Cruz yesterday approved the project signed by Fernando Menis and with a base bidding budget amounting to 12,487,832.62 euros, IGIC included, after the approval of the Planning Department.
Thus, the Local Government Board, chaired by the mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez, yesterday approved the file relating to the contract for the drafting services of the preliminary study and overall preliminary project, partial projects and project management and coordination of health and safety of the Comprehensive intervention works of the Viera y Clavijo Cultural Park, for the purpose of approving the partial rehabilitation project of the main building of the BIC building of the Viera y Clavijo Cultural Complex and improvement of its immediate protection environment of the BIC.
“The next step is the tender for the work, which we hope to be able to carry out between October and November. This tender is one of the most important investments of the City Council in recent years, we are talking about 12.4 million euros”, highlighted the Councilor for Infrastructure, Dámaso Arteaga.
“For us, the start of these works in this mandate is an objective to be met and the commitment to historical heritage,” he added, while emphasizing that “both this work and the Masonic temple or the recovery of the first phase of the Palace de Carta”, among others, “are actions that undoubtedly reflect a commitment to the recovery of our heritage”.
The rehabilitation project, by the Canarian architect Fernando Menis and winner of the RTF Awards for Sustainable Architecture, is committed to the preservation and recovery of the existing vegetation and the old Colegio de la Asunción, and the main use that is intended for it is the cultural, remembering that it will house the future headquarters of the Rodin Museum.
On the other hand, the Governing Board also approved the final proposal of the Contracting Committee for the award of the eight lots of the concession for the installation and operation of the eight kiosks and sunbeds and umbrellas service on Las Teresitas beach.
