The Tenerife Summer Carnival which is celebrated every year in Puerto de la Cruz has already begun and yesterday was one of the most special days for the family, in which all its members were able to enjoy the activities dedicated to the little ones.
On a special day, the swimsuit was mixed with the costume, the perfect combination to enjoy the water castles and the foam party, as well as balloon twisting and the different shows such as that of the superheroes, or with a meeting very special with the Tyrannosaurus Rex. To this were added performances such as that of the choreographic group Moana and Essavan, and the Disney show that put the finishing touch to a special day that began in the morning and that had as its main stage the surroundings of the Plaza de los Reyes Católicos, in the most tourist area of the city.
Within the framework of the event, the final count of the choice of the theme of the next Winter Carnival was also announced, which fell by a narrow margin on the trip that represents the Pacific, islands of fire and coral, which had 279 votes from the nearly 800 issued. In second place was the Silk Road with 219 votes, in third place science and cosmos with 131 votes and finally, in fourth place, surrealism with 119 votes.
With this result, in 2023 the Atlantic and the Pacific will join forces to offer a date with the best clothes to celebrate a party of dances with necklaces and bracelets, of carnival fantasies, of bodies and of color that will welcome this new opportunity to celebrate the International Carnival 2023.
The Summer Carnival lives its big days this week with the election of the ambassador, a new figure whose role will be to reinforce the projection and promotion of these identity festivities of Puerto de la Cruz, and the children’s queen. Both will take place on Wednesday, September 7 at the Costa Martiánez Tourist Complex.
That same venue will serve as the stage for the election gala of the King of Carnival, one of the high points of a Carnestolendas that will end on Sunday, September 11 with the already traditional massive Coso. This will start from the Plaza del Charco to the Paseo de Colón, as the end of the party.
The 7th edition of the Tenerife Summer Carnival, which is held in Puerto de la Cruz until September 11, is sponsored by Centro Comercial Martiánez, Loro Parque, Aqualia, Heineken, Coca-Cola, Grupo Rahn, Grupo Compostelana and the collaboration of Nest Hostel, Dwo Nopal and Hotel Vallemar.
