The Cabildo de Tenerife, through its Ministry of Employment, and Radio Ecca, have just opened the fifth edition of the program Ecca Tenerife Impulsa (ETI), aimed at improving the training and job orientation of unemployed people on the island. The project is aimed at people between 18 and 55 years old, with the Document of Registration and Renewal of the Employment Demand (DARDE) updated. People who are in a situation of job improvement whose income does not exceed 579 euros (gross) per month may also benefit from this training.

The fifth edition of the Ecca Tenerife Impulsa project will offer free training for 1,000 people on the island thanks to the support of the Cabildo Insular. The training period, which will run until April 2023, will offer courses in socio-health care, health, early childhood education, languages, business, personal development or technology, in addition to the official ESO and Bachillerato degrees.

The training offered in all municipalities is complemented by a support service and job guidance to facilitate the objective of finding a job. Last year, 1,125 people were trained through the fourth edition of this project.

People interested in improving their training through this project can request information by calling 922 231 911 (extensions 115, 137 and 150), from 09:00 to 14:00 or by email eccatenerifeimpulsa@radioecca.org

MORE TRAINING, LESS UNEMPLOYMENT

According to data from the Canary Islands Employment Observatory for the second quarter of this year, 82,884 people are unemployed on the island of Tenerife. Of them, 53.91% only have primary studies, while 32.29% have finished high school. The number of unemployed people with Vocational Training or university studies only represents 13.8% of unemployed people, which shows that the more training the less unemployment. This x-ray of unemployment on the island is one of the main justifications for the Ecca Tenerife Impulsa project: offering training to people with less qualifications to improve their employability options.
